Discuss ONE of the genres you plan to create.
I am creating a blog for students specifically first year college students who feel discouraged getting involved in their school, or feel as if they won't find their place in the college setting.
How does this genre further the message of your research paper?
This genre furthers the message of my research paper because they both are targeting the audience of college students who may feel like they can't get involved. This is a good genre for this writing purpose because a blog has more personal experiences and details where the audience can relate to it.
What rhetorical appeals will you be using?
I think this genre will mostly include Pathos, the personal stories as blogs where the audience can feel and experience the message of the blog post.
How does the audience of this genre different from that of your research paper?
The audience are similar, I think the audience of the blog is more specific of first year college students and the research paper is more to all college students or students in general. Both are to students, the blog just focuses more on first year students more specifically.
What is one alternate genre you could create in its place?
A speech, maybe at a freshman orientation that would deliver a similar message to the audience.
In talking about the steps to assemble a multigenre project the BBG says that you should sequence your genre pieces. Summarize this section and then explain how you will seuqnece your three genres.
I plan on sequencing them by order of detail. I believe the blog consists of more detailed posts that go more in depth. The other two genres, the powerpoint and the poster will go into detail but not as much and I feel like it is more important to start with the blog posts.
