"About The Legislative Branch." Florida State University Student Government Association, http://sga.fsu.edu/about-lb.shtml.
This webpage discusses what Senate is at Florida State University and how the legislative branch is a part of Student Government. The author, Florida State University Student Government, is a credible author because it is a University source and also is less in bias do to the fact that the website is specific to what Student Government is and not why someone should join.
It starts off by discussing who makes up the Florida State Senate and that the senate is split up by the student’s major. “Senators are elected in the fall and spring about five weeks after classes begin. To run for the Senate, you must file your candidacy application with the Supervisor of Elections office by the advertised deadline, usually four weeks after classes begin.” The significance of this statement directly from the source is very informational and factual for students who wish to join can simple go to this website and get information on how they could get involved. If you run as an Independent (without a party affiliation), you must file your candidacy application.
To summarize, the site gives a brief overview of what Senate is and how students can get involved.
This source relates to my topic because I am researching the legislative branch, the Senate at FSU for my project paper. This source does provide quality information; however, it could be better by proving more information. It would be a better resource if that had more detail about the step by step process of running for the election or getting involved in Senate at FSU. Overall, it is a quality source and provides necessary information about the organization.
