What is writing? Well, writing to me can be in any genre, informal or formal and can be used to convey many thoughts, arguments, feelings, emotions etc. Writing can connect writer to reader and can be incorporated in many parts of our everyday lives.
What is the writing process? The writing process can be different for everyone and can be different depending on the audience you are writing for. Taking the time to develop a writing process for your piece can establish a clear understanding of what you necessarily want to include and not include.
Why do we write here? I think we all may write for many reasons, including class requirements but I think there is an underlying purpose for why we might write what we write. For me, yes, I am writing this blog for my class, however I also think it's valuable to write or type your thoughts down freely.
"Understanding Genres"
What genres have you written in? Many. I have written different genres throughout high school and college thus far. My favorites are poetry, narratives, and causal blog pieces like this where I can freely express my thoughts in the lines of an academic setting.
What genres do you hope to compose in this class? I am very curious to see how the research paper goes, I have developed research papers before, however never in this specific writing process. Writing in different styles makes me curious as to how I will develop as a writer. I enjoy narrative pieces due to the freedom to write, however I am excited to compose this genre with the class requirements.
